Everyone knows the look of the standard spa website. The norm is soft pastels, calligraphic fonts, and stock photos. Our goal for this project was to maintain a professional look and feel without losing their personality.


During the strategy phase we sat with members of the North Medical Spa team to establish their core business goals. It was important to us that we understood the full scope of their online needs and how the final application would fit within their overall digital marketing initiatives. The final strategy documents outlined content variations, data capture opportunities, user flows, and marketing platform connectivity.

Information Architecture

It was pivotal that the structure and overall experience of the application was as simple and seamless as possible no matter the device or platform used to access it. We created detailed compositions of every template, component, and element down to the smallest detail. From there, the compositions were converted into a working prototype that could be experienced by the North Medical team as if it was the final product.


Much of the design aesthetic was influenced by the North Medical Spa brand identity created by Kristina Marija. The identity uses clean lines, modern typography, beautiful photography, and a simple color palette. Based on this, we designed components and layouts that focused on content and imagery, clutter-free. Everything is simple and elegant with emphasis on what matters to the end user. Much attention was paid to ensuring that the design was thoughtful but not overbearing on every platform.


The core objectives we needed to address during the development phase were flexibility, ease of use, speed, and simplicity. We built an application that is robust and extensible with a seamless content management interface. Much of the administration panels were customized to ensure the North Medical team has total control with minimal effort. From a user perspective the final product needed to load fast, be easy to navigate, and work across all devices and platforms. Using a variety of modern techniques we were able to deliver on all the above concerns as well as craft a platform that is accessible, search engine friendly, and easily integrated with any digital marketing strategy.

Integrations & Analytics

The biggest advantage of building a tailored application is that we were able to include a variety of third-party services and integrations. For this project we included analytics and user tracking, email newsletter connectivity, forms, surveys, and marketing/advertising reporting. We also implemented customized modals, social media sharing, as well as an integration ticketing system and customer relationship management connections.
